ABOUT PHIL SILBERMAN:
Juilliard School of Music trained professional drummer Phil Silberman, wanted drums from the time he learned to talk.  He remembers the amazing red drum set in the window of the Brooklyn, NY Sam Ash like it was yesterday, but he was hardly upset by the blue drums his parents bought for him, one piece at a time, when he first began playing drums at the age of ten.  Having studied under legendary musicians, including Joel Rothman, Ted Reed, Jim Chapin, Ed Shaughnessy, Joe Morello and Morris Goldenberg, Silberman went on to a successful professional career as a freelance musician in the New York City area that included performing with some of the top names in show business - Neil Sedaka, Gregory Hines, Shirley Bassy, Cab Calloway, Julie Budd and Jaye P. Morgan, among them.  He has played more than 2,000 club dates with many well-known bands in the New York City area as well as performing in show bands at the top Catskill resorts throughout their heyday. After a long hiatus from professional music, Phil Silberman is back to performing and is currently accepting students for private lessons in the Long Island area.  He is also currently studying under Dom Famularo and is a current member of the Vic Firth Education Team.  Phil now shares his residency in Plainview, Long Island  and Delray Beach, Florida
